Sri Matha Trust was started in the year 2000, with the holy blessings of Kanchi Seer Shri. Jayendra Swamighal who christened the organization as Sri Madha Trust.
Mr. V. Krishnamoorthy is the Managing Trustee of Sri Matha Trust. The idea of helping the poor cancer patients occurred to him when he lost his mother for want of proper medical care due to his inability to meet the medical expenses. He did not want other such poor people to meet the fate that his mother met. So he wanted to start a Charity Trust to provide shelter and food support for the poor patients who undergo treatment at Adayar Cancer Institute.
He sought the blessings of Shri. Jayendra Swamikal who not only blessed him, but also prayed The Lord Balaji to give him necessary strength to start the mission also he suggested the name Sri Matha Trust. Being a devotee of Shri Jayendra Swamikal, Mr. Krishnamoorthy accepted the name and immediately started the Trust. He entered into an MOU with the Adayar Cancer Institute for this purpose.
With the support of large hearted philanthropists he hired Dhrmasala Building owned by a Rajasthani Trust at Adayar from where he started his Trust operations.
Recently he has moved to a building closer to Adyar Cancer Institute and has been successfully running the Trust with utmost integrity, sincerity and dedication.

In Chennai, Mr.V.Krishnamoorthy runs a free Dharmasala with food and shelter since year 2000, which provides such care and support not only to patients, but also to the caretakers who accompany the patients.
Krishnamoorty treats every man and woman like his own children. At all times, he puts his best fooot forward to bring about improvement in the patient's care.
